A dental emergency can be a stressful experience. We try to make them as worry free as possible. If you or a loved one is experiencing a dental emergency right now, call our office immediately at 623.469.6090 and we will do everything we can to get you or your loved one the care that is needed.
If there is a dental emergency on weekends or holidays, our on-call dental professional will be able to help. If the emergency happens after working hours, you will receive instructions about how to properly care for the emergency and which over-the-counter medications or pain aids would help the most.
If your dental emergency is severe, or if you are unable to reach our on-call professional, you should go to the nearest hospital emergency room for treatment.
Our office staff will make every possible effort to get you in for an appointment as quickly as possible, most likely the same day if the emergency occurs during the week. There may be some wait time, so it’s important to stay as calm and relaxed as possible if you need to wait for the dentist to finish with another patient.
Here’s a helpful tip. If you’ve been in an accident and lost a tooth, here’s the best way to preserve the tooth and possibly have it grow back in its original location.
If the whole tooth is intact, pick it up by the top, and avoid touching the root. Rinse it in water and if possible, reinsert in your mouth. If that’s not possible, place the tooth in a cup of milk to preserve it.
